Mrs. Elizabeth H. Haskell of Rappahannock and Martinsville was elected as vice-chairman of the State Air Pollution Control Board at its August 6th meeting held in Chesapeake. Elected chairman was E. Folger Taylor of Staunton.
Mrs. Haskell, a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania, directed a study of state government approaches to pollution under a Ford Foundation grant from 1970 to 1973. She was one of the first Fellows of the Smithsonian Institution’s Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars and has written several books on environmental management.
Mrs. Haskell and her husband. Robert, own the property near Washington, formerly owned by the late Joe D. Keyser.
