The marriage of Violet Mae Scott to Roger Lee Woodard took place July 14, 1979, at Forest Grove Baptist Church. The Rev. W. Ray Crockett performed the ceremony.
Miss Scott is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Horace Marvin Scott of Viewtown. The bridegroom is the son of Mackwell Jackson Woodard and the late Dorothy Gray Woodard of Montpelier Station.
Escorted by her uncle, Charles H. Hitt of Amissville, the bride wore a formal gown of white knit trimmed with cahntilly lace, and a picture hat. She carried a silk flower arrangement of carnations, daisies and baby’s breath.
Cindy Woodard of Montpelier Station was maid of honor and Christine Dodson of Rixeyville was bridesmaid. Their long gowns were blue, and pink, respectively, and they also wore picture hats.
Junior bridesmaids were Allison Gray of Culpeper and Tammy Smith of Amissville. Both wore matching floor length gowns of pink and blue.
Ronald Woodard was his brother's best man, and Billy Dodson of Rixeyville was an usher.
