The Whites have always loved dogs but they are relative new comers to the ranks of Basenji fanciers. For years, they raised and showed Great Danes. “Then Dorothy fell in love with a Basenji at a show so we got two,” Emmett said.
'They’re better in twos,” Dorothy interjected. “They’re so much easier to keep and less destructive that way.”

Rev and Pucker are the Whites’ second set of Basenjis. Rev, formally dubbed Revelry Rev-Up, was bred by Revelry Kennels in Leesburg as a show dog. His temperament was. unsuited for kennel life, however, so breeder Damara Bolte placed him with the Whites. Rev thrived in a home environment, so much so that when Bolte saw the dog two years later, her reaction was
