And Clifton should know—he has an entire home full of silver and ribbons that bear witness to the excellence of the Walkers that he breeds. The booty in the Clark’s farmhouse outshines a pirate treasure trove. Row after row of loving cups still in their plastic wrappers line the top of a bureau in the entry hall. The cabinet in the bottom of the bureau overflows with bowls and trophies. Engraved plates cover every available surface in a front parlor. A wall in the bedroom is distinctively papered with red and blue ribbons. “And we haven’t put any new ones up in five years,” Clifton pointed out.
