Compton told the supervisors that both Jim Harris, engineer for Goode, and county engineer Fanning Baumgardner had determined that the subdivision proposal met county requirements on slope.
“You still have iots in there that don’t conform to our subdivision ordinance,” Supervisor Eastham responded. He advised Goode to resubmit another subdivision design, following proper procedural channels.
“I was told that all the lots had five acres or more under 14 percent slope,” Compton insisted.
“I think you were told wrong,” countered Eastham.
“Every time you change (the design on the subdivision), it still has to go before the planning commission,” noted supervisor H. B. Wood. Although no formal vote was taken, the supervisors declined to give Compton the development approval he sought.
“I guess we’ll go ahead with the court date then,” the attorney concluded.
