Mr. and Mrs. Horace A. Shultz of Front Royal, better known as “Dutch” Mertie, will demonstrate their archery skills during the Rappahannock Historical Society’s ‘‘Apple Day” program scheduled for October 20 at the county’s Recreational Center on Routes 211 and 522.
The Shultzes have been active members of the National Field Archery Association, the Virginia Bowhunter’s Association and Two Rivers Archery Club for 20 and 15 years respectively. Also, ' they have been members of the honorary “Order of the Golden Feather” of the V.B.A. since 1976. Their other archery related activities include instructing in the art at various camps, football games and assisting in the development of an archery range at the new 4-H center located in Harmony Hollow near Front Royal.
