The second annual Virginia Draft Horse Days and the third annual Old Fashioned Days have been scheduled for Sept. 22 and 23 at the Ruritan Grounds at Mt. Crawford, Va.
Sponsored by the Virginia Draft Horse Association, the draft horse days will feature a harnessing contest, obstacle course and log pull on Saturday and an invitational horse pull on Sunday.
Activities on Saturday get underway at 10 a.m. with the timed harnessing contest. The annual meeting of the Virginia Draft Horse Association is set for 1 to 3 p.m. with the obstacle competition designed to test driving skill and team ability at 5 p.m. At 7 p.m. a timed log pull is scheduled.
The invitational horse pull covering 27l/2 feet will begin at 2 p.m. Sunday. If time permits, fun events such as a bareback race will also be held.
