A Youth Needs Survey was given to various county agencies by the Rappahannock County Task Force on Youth. The purpose of this three part survey was to obtain youth service information and opinions of agency workers in the areas of juvenile justice, education, mental and physical health, welfare, employment and recreation.
The survey was the first step towards an objective assessment of Rappahannock County’s community and organizational youth needs and resources. This Youth Needs Assessment will be used by local task force members in preparing a community plan to increase youth opportunities and prevent juvenile delinquency in Rappahannock County.
The agencies surveyed included 1) the Rappahannock County Department of Welfare, 2) the Rappahannock County Health Department, 3) the Rappahannock Mental' Health clinic, 4) Rappahannock County Schools, 5) 20th District Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court in Rappahannock, 6) Rappahannock Cooperative Extension Service and two private organizations, 7) Sursum Corda Day Care Center and 8) the Rappahannock Medical Center. Story Hour
The Rappahannock County Library’s fall session of “Story Hour” will begin on Tuesday, September 18, from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m.
Karen Tornedon will read selections directed at children ages three to seven years. Parents and youngsters are invited to attend this free program.
