The fall environmental education workshop at Shenandoah National Park is scheduled for September 29. The workshop is aimed at elementary school teachers who wish to become acquainted with environmental education techniques. Anyone interested in environmental awareness programs is urged to attend.

The workshop will be held at the Big Meadows area of the Park, and will begin at 10:00 a.m. at Byrd Visitor Center, Milepost 51 on the Skyline Drive. Members of the Park staff will demonstrate environmental awareness activities for students and show how the Park’s resources can be used. The session will last until 3:00 p.m. Lunch can be purchased at the Big Meadows Wayside or a sack lunch brought.

An optional program will be scheduled on September 30 for teachers who wish to share their own ideas in environmental education.
