One of his hounds, Clifton recalled, took first place in a three day field trial with only two raw eggs in her belly.
Clifton has been involved with hunting hounds since 1926 when he was just 14 years old. Born and raised in one of the Rappahannock hollows that is now part of Shenandoah National Park, he's lived with dogs almost all his life.
