The Washington Volunteer Fire Department’s suicide squad will take on Redskin players from the “other” Washington in a benefit basketball game against the WMAL Oneders scheduled for Wednesday, February 13, at 8 p.m. in the RCHS gymnasium.
The idea for a suicide squad came out of the WVFD’s efforts to find new and more interesting ways to raise money for the fire department's support. Squad members include “Big Bad Brad” Fisher, Jerry “Dr. Jay” Martin, "Mad Dog” Dave Henry, Jackie "Big E” Estes, “Magic” Roger Roach, and Bob “The Bullet” Haase.
The WMAL Oneders will send radio sportscaster Johnny Holliday, Washington Redskins Mark Moseley and Mark Murphy, former Redskin and current Los Angeles Ram Eddie Brown and other professional athletes onto the court.
Tickets at $3.50 for adults and $3 for students will be sold at the door. Children under seven years will be admitted free.
