The same night two chain saws were stolen from the Virginia Highway Department shop at Washington, according to Trooper R. A. Baines, who is investigating the crime. Value of the saws was estimated at $150.
Sheriff Buntin advises area residents to use lock-tops on their auto gasoline tanks and loc;k up storage tanks or pumps as a precaution. “Nothing is sure,” he said, “however, a lock will cause vandals inconvenience and perhaps delay, or create noise which would alert home owners."
