The Rappahannock Panthers lost a close one last Wednesday January 23, against the Luray Bulldogs, 64-58.
The RCHS varsity was plaugued by Luray’s offense and the Bulldog’s superior rebounding strength throughout the contest. After trailing 22-18 in the first quarter, the Panthers looked like they’d go home with the win when they pulled ahead 34- 33 near the end of the first half. Luray came back just before the buzzer took the lead back before the buzzer and was on top at the close of the half but only by one point 35- 34.
In the second half, the Bulldogs held on to lead 5146 in the third period and 6458 at the close of the final six minutes.
Greg Bright led the Panthers with 14 points and nine rebounds. Gary Leake
