As the price of gasoline continues to climb and also becomes a scarce commodity, more reports of gas thefts are evident.
Tuesday night John Burke of Washington heard prowlers around his place in the vicinity of his vehicles and summoned Sheriff W. A. Buntin. Buntin investigated and in turn called Trooper C. A. Moore with his trained dog.
The dog picked up a good scent that ended abruptly at the road which indicated the prowler had transportation waiting. The investigation continues, said the officers.
