Congressman J. Kenneth Robinson (R-Winchester) plans to run for a sixth term in Congress.
The 7th District Representative made the announcement last week at a breakfast gathering of supporters in Winchester, Harrisonburg, Charlottesville and Fredericksburg.
Robinson said he had been - "encouraged by increasing opportunities to make effective contributions to what 1 regard as constructive initiatives in the Congress.”
Robinson’s said he would ‘‘seek the Republican nomination for Congressman", and, if successful, would "ask the supporter of all citizens of the 7th Congressional District for the opportunity to serve them in Congress through another two-year term."
Reenactment
Set For 1980
Due to continued interruptions by bad weather, the Rappahannock Historial Society has again rescheduled its planning meeting for the Civil War reenactment set for the 1980 Labor Day weekend.
The planning session will be held on Thursday, February 7, at 7:30 p.m. in the court house. The public is invited to attend.
