Family Forum

Scheduled

A VP1 sponsored family forum will be held Thursday. February 21. at Fidelity American Bank. Southgate Shopping Center. Culpeper, from 10 a.m. to noon.

Participants will discuss recommendations from the Virginia Conference on Families held last fall in' Fredericksburg. Comments and ideas on education, the work world, transition, growth stress and developmental changes expressed at the February 21 forum will be added to the recommendations from the first conference. Both will be presented by 36 Virginia delegates at the Eastern Regional White House Conference on Families to be held in Maryland this summer.

In January, 1978, President Carter announced his intention to hold the White House Conference. Subsequent state meetings were held to arrive at ‘‘grassroots” recommendations for the President and Congress on legislation relating to the family.

The Culpeper forum is intended to give citizens in the Rappahannock-Rapidan Planning District, including Culpeper. Rappahannock. Orange. Madison and Fauquier Counties, an opportunity to express their ideas.

Anyone wishing to speak must register by February 14. Copies of the report from last fall’s Virginia Conference on Families and registration forms for the Culpeper forum are available at Rappahannock's VP1 Extension Office in Washington, 6753619.
