Remember the story regarding the fire on the seventh floor? Well, we have had two alarms since then until they discovered what the problem w as.
While we were gone last year, they installed smoke detectors along the ceilings on each hall. A fella named George Bowles, a well known newsman, who writes for the Virginia News Service, is a fellow pipe smoker. He lit his pipe beneath one of these smoke detectors, and off went the alarm. It wasn’t the tobacco he was smoking that set off the alarms, it was those shredded news stories he used for tobacco that caused the problem. Just kidding, he is an excellent reporter but he sure is careful where he lights his pipe now..
This has been a busy week, with a series of Committee meetings, lots of mail and phone calls, visits from government officials and checking on questionable bills.
