Amissville Firemen’s Carnival opened Wednesday night at the carnival grounds on Route 211 just west of the village.
Highlighting the four-night festival will be a parade on Thursday beginning at 7 p.m. Many interesting units have accepted invitations to participate in the annual event.
A box supper will be available on the grounds Thursday, as well as hot dogs, hamburgers, cakes, coffee, ice cream and drinks which are on sale each evening.
Friday’s feature will be the crowning of a queen and climaxing the event will be the awarding of the grand prize and other prizes.
Many games of skill and fun along with concessions and thrilling rides on the midway will beckon those attending. Good wholesome fun and entertainment for the entire family will await them.
The fire department and rescue squad depend on the support of the public for operating and maintenance funds. The assistance of all is urged.
