The Rappahannock Rebels will sponsor a benefit Independence Day softball tournament scheduled for July 4. 5 and 6.
Sanctioned by the American Softball Association, the tournament is open to both organized and ■■pick-up” teams from throughout the area and will be played under ASA rules. Games will be held at the RCHS field with some contests possibly scheduled for diamonds at the elementary school and in Sperryville. depending on the number of teams participating.
Fourty-four trophies will be presented, including individual trophies for first and second place teams and trophies for third, fourth, and fifth, most valuable player, best dressed player and most sportsmanlike player.
