Rappahannock New* Staff Writer When Tony Perez leaves Rappahannock County next week, it will be with a better understanding of rural America, an understanding that can only benefit the United States.

Perez, with his wife Maritza, is visiting Capt. and Mrs. Howard Holschuh of Rock Mills as part of a tour af the U.S. that will take him to the International Lions Gub Convention in Chicago next month.

Here, he’s a visiting Lions Club member, one of thousands of early summer tourists.

But back at home in Costa Rica, he’s our man in San Jose. Perez is employed by the U.S. Embassy’s International Communication’s Agency as a public relation’s, officer. It’f his job to explain^ this country’s position on critical issues—for instance Iran, Afghanastan and the Olympic boycott—to Costa Ricans.
