Tonight will be the end of school for many of us, excluding the 20 or so who are going to college and the few who are going into the Armed Forces, our formal education will have ended as of today. It is like a part of us will be missing. Probably 10 or 15 years from now, we will look back on school as the good old days when life was easy, although we don't think so now. Then we will wish we were back again.
There are many people in our lives up to this point who deserve a thank you but the ones we usually overlook are out teachers. We appreciate the help they have given us over the past years but they have put up with our back talk and paper fights long enough, not to mention have to decipher our homework.
I am sure we will miss them all. One teacher everyone will miss next year is Mrs. Moffett. As most of you know she is retiring this year. The Senior class and entire student body would like to thank her for her 24 years at the high school. She has always been willing to help anyone who comes in the library looking for either a book or magazine. She would often look for an hour or more for research material for a student. This is the kind of dedication to one’s work you seldom find in many people. Not every teacher gels 4 standing ovations from the entire student body such as Mrs. Moffett did at our last assembly.
