If you are using an electric lighter, be sure to remove it from the coals after about eight minutes. Otherwise, the charcoal could reach a temperature hot enough to melt the steel sheath of the lighter and cause an explosion. . +A cylinder fire starter should not be removed from the grill without the use of a heavily padded mitt. It becomes very hot in just a few minutes.
+ If you are starting a fire with lighter fluid, iriake a pyramid of charcoal and saturate it with fluid. Let it stand for a few minutes, then ease a lighted match into one side of the pyramid.
-fNever squirt lighter fluid on coals that are hot. The flames can ignite the vapors and cause an explosion by traveling along the stream of fluid and into the can.
+Saturate two or three new briquettes and add to 'the pyramid with tongs if the Tire does not start.
+Remove hood on covered grill until fire is lighted and flames subside. Fumes in a confined area may flash back when fire is ignited.
-(-Consider buying lighter fluid that has the flame trap cap. It helps reduce the hazard of a flash-back igniting contents of the can.
-(-Store lighter fluid away from the house and out of reach of small children.
