Virginia's gasoline consumption dropped 7.4- per cent in April this year, compared to the same period last year..’ strengthening the conservation trend and aiding the state in meeting consumption levels set by the federal government.
Figures released by the Virginia Office of Emergency and Energy Services (OEES) indicate 214.040.000 gallons^ were consumed in April 1980.^ compared to 231.008,000 gallons in April 1979.
Reduced consumption in April continued the trend towards conservation and placed the state well under the US Department of Energy's consumption quota.
Reductions of 3.1 per cent. 5. 1 per cent, and 13.0 per cent for January. February and March of this year compared to corresponding months in 1979, were reported earlier by OEES.
