Commissioner Carbaugh reported that his agency recently conducted a survey of Virginia farmers to determine the full impact of the grain embargo and high capital costs on Virginia. The results of this survey will be released in the coming weeks.
Due to the increasing economic concerns facing Virginia’s farmers, the Governor’s Agricultural Credit Executive Committee has called for a series of public hearings to evaluate the situation as well as to inform all farmers of credit and other economic help that is currently available.
