On September 20 and 21, Brownie Troop 955 of Castleton held an overnight campout, a first for the troop and a first also for any Rappahannock Brownies.
Traditionally, Brownies don’t camp until they’re ready to “fly up” to junior girl scouting, but four years ago, tradition gave way to the new ‘‘worlds to explore” Brownie program.
Last weekend, Troop 955 began exploring the world close to home on an overnight camping trip on the adjoining properties of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Rustic and Mr. and Mrs. Richard Helmer in Castleton.
The weather was exceptional for outdoor activities which centered around learning to march in formation and perfecting flag ceremony skills. Other events
