Eastham
Richard Hilldrup Eastham, 56, of Hyattsville, Md., died Tuesday, September 16, 1980, in a Maryland hospital. Burial was held Friday at Fort Lincoln Cemetery, Brentwood, Md. A veteran of World War II, Mr. Eastham served with the 116th Infantry in the 1st Infantry Division of the U. S. Army and was severely wounded in combat at Stolburg, Germany in 1944. After retiring with 30 years federal government service, he became associated with the Veterans Administration doing volunteer work with the blind.
Mr. Eastham, a native of Rappahannock County, was born in Flint Hill June 3, 1924, the son of Mary Pullen Eastham of Arlington and the late Franklin Dabney Eastham.
Surviving are his wife, Mary Jacobs Eastham; two daughters, Mary Anne Bekassy of New Paris, Pa., and Eileen Brady of Waldorf, Md.; three sons, Richard H. Eastham of Ellicott City. Md., Jonathan Eastham of Grandview, Mo., and David Eastham of Hyattsville. Md.. and five grandchildren.
Other survivors include four sisters, Virginia Carter of Warrenton, Anne Lillard of Ruckersville. Jane Rottier of Annandale and Patricia Hall of Ormond Beach, Fla., and two brothers, Thomas G. Eastham and Robert W. Eastham. both of Flint Hill.
