Fall leaf colors usually attract large crowds to Shenandoah National Park facilities. “These autumn visitors who plan to camp in Big Meadows Campground can beat the crowds and reserve a campsite in advance.” says Robert R. Jacobsen, Superintendent of the Park.
Advance reservations for nights through October 31 may be made in person at any Ticketron outlet or in Shenandoah National Park at Park Headquarters or Big Meadows Campground. For the location of the nearest outlet or for mail-in order blank information, call (703) 999-2282.
“On peak color weekends, lodges and campgrounds are Filled to capacity, and Park visitors often experience difficulty in obtaining a place to stay. Anxiety can be avoided and the trip made more enjoyable by knowing a campsite has been reserved," added Superintendent Jacobsen.
