The first frost of the season arrived Monday to begin the transformation of the county's hillsides from summer green to the brilliant red. orange, yellow and brown of fall all in time for Rappahannock’s 24th annual house tour and dried flower sale.
Houses will be open this weekend, October 18 and 19, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday and 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday. Headquarters for the tour and flower sale sponsored by the Episcopal churchwomen of Bromfield Parish will be the parish hall of Trinity Episcopal Church in historic Washington.
On the tour this year will be White Walnut Hill, mountain home of wellknown newspaper columnist, TV commentator and author James J. Kilpatrick and his wife, sculptor and painter Marie Pietri. Mrs. Kilpatrick’s studio and paintings will be on exhibit as will be the enclosed
Fire Assoc.
To Meet
The Rappahannock County Fire and Rescue Association will hold its October meeting Friday night at 7:30 p.m. in the Sperryville Rescue building. All members are asked to attend.
