assistance to eligible clients in the RappahannockRapidan Planning District and three other regions.

As with most federally funded programs, RLS must determine if an individual is eligible for services, based on income and assets. Eligibility is determined immediately through a simple application procedure conducted face-toface or over the phone.

Office of Management and Budget poverty line figures are used in determining eligibility for RLS assistance. In most cases, an eligible applicant will be given an appointment to meet with an attorney.

The new Culpeper office will begin accepting clients on October 30. On Tuesday October 28, the RLS staff will hold an open house for the public from 10 a.m. to 5

p.m. to meet the community and answer questions about legal services. Refreshments and literature on RLS will be provided.

For more information on Rappahannock Legal Services, contact the Culpeper office at 825-3131.
