September saw a record number of senior citizens participating in the county’s nutrition program sponsored by the Area Agency on Aging.

According to site supervisor Faye Crescent!, 456 meals were served last month at Hampton Inn with two new oldsters becoming regular members of the senior group. Beginning in October, the site will be open five days a week, she reported.

Events during September included trips to the State Fair in Richmond and to the National Zoo in Washington, D.C. In October, the group plans a picnic on Skyline Drive, their third outing in Shenandoah National Park this year. In addition, Mrs. Crescenti will host the senior citizens at her home in Amissville for a costume party on Halloween.
