To the editor:
The observance of National Newspaper Week—October 12-18—prompts us to gratefully acknowledge your assistance in helping us to disseminate information on veterans benefits throughout the State of Virginia.
Our continuing endeavor is to provide up-to-date information to the 661,000 veterans who reside in Virginia. By adding their families to this number we are attempting to reach well over two million people, or nearly half of the state population. Little of the Veterans Administration’s mission and ' accomplishments would be apparent to the general public were it not for the vital assistance of public-spirited daily and weekly newspapers.
We sincerely appreciate the very valuable contributions you have made in keeping the public informed of the various programs administered by this regional office.
