together. The popular Rappahannock County teeshirts have been reordered and a large supply will be available for sale, this weekend at $6.50 each.
Finally, members of the WFVD’s rescue squad will be on hand to administer free blood pressure tests to the public. These tests are a valuable method of detecting hyper-tension.
“Visitors can watch their cider pressed on the spot,” said WVFD chief Roger Roach who will be manning the press along with Gene Leggett. Cider will be for sale at $2.50 per gallon.
Rappahannock County teeshirts have been a sell-out at every WVFD fund raising event since they were first displayed in 1979. The teeshirts were designed by Washington artist Nancy Ryan and feature a colorful rainbow with a mountain scene and the caption “Rappahannock County—Virginia’s Finest Since 1749.”
The dollar bill line is a new idea this year, according to WVFD treasurer Rev. Jennings Hobson. The line will • :be started at the corner by The Inn and each dollar contributed will send it down Middle Street towards the new fire house. All money raised will go for providing fire and rescue service for Washington and surrounding areas.
Blood pressure tests will be provided free to visitors and residents as a public service from 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on both days.
