evening, October 16, 1980, at The Barn in Egypt Bend Estates near Luray. Activities will begin with an apple cider social at 6:00 p.m. followed by a 6:30 p.m. country-style dinner, available by reservation.
The program for the evening features a presentation entitled “Songs and Stories of Steam Railroading” by Paul Shue. This will include materials dealing with the folklore. I both spoken and sung, j surrounding train wrecks i from the 1890’s with emphasis on the C & O Line primarily within Virginia and West Virginia. Folklore Society members will continue their tradition of bringing personal items of Valley fblklife for display and of sharing traditional folktales and songs during the meeting.
