Monday on Route 211 near the Teepee, two vehicles were involved in a minor collision, according to Trooper H. A. Newlin. Ellen M. Lessy of Bethesda, Md. driving a 79 Pontiac was struck in the rear by a 1980 Pontiac. Tamara Orebaugh of Alexandria was the other driver involved and was cited for reckless driving by the officer.
Newlin said Lessy was traveling east on Route 211 when she . was slowing to make a left turn and was hit by the Orebaugh car.
The following day, Mary O’Meara of Sperryville was also charged with reckless driving after she skidded into a 77 AMC driven by William Harper of Winchester, according to Trooper Newlin.
O’Meara was operating a 71 Datsun traveling east when a line of vehicles stopped for a motorist making a turn. She braked abruptly and skidded into Harper heading west, said Newlin.
