“Rappahannock has cleaned up again!” reported a delighted Gary Rosson as he announced the award of four Virginia Rescue Squad Assistance Fund grants to local units.
The county has reaped a tremendous harvest in the five years that the assistance program has been in existence, Rosson noted. He recalled grants in past years to Flint Hill. Washington and Chester Gap for ambulances and to the county’s Fire and Rescue Assication for the new dispatch center’s communications equipment. "Per capita. Rappahannock has probably received more money than any other locality in Virginia.”
As director of the Rappahannock Rapidan Emergency Medical Services Council, Rosson has been instrumental in securing Assistance Fund grants for the five-county area that covers Rappahannock. Orange. Cupeper, Fauquier and Madison counties.
