Recreation agreed to undertake a study which would determine whether the Rappahannock and Rapidan Rivers might be included in the State or Federal Scenic River System. The criteria for inclusion into the system are “exceptional natural beauty of the river with consideration of wild life, fishing potential, quality of water, recreation opportunities, and historical features.”
Census by mail was instituted for farmers nationwide. Questionnaires for the 1974 Census of Agriculture were mailed by the Bureau of the Census. Farmers were to complete the report forms and send them back ASAP.
