The Board of Agriculture and Consumer Services at its meeting in Warrenton, December 15 and 16 approved certain amendments to the state’s Brucellosis and Tuberculosis Eradication Programs that will bring them in line with their respective national programs. The regulation also established health requirements for certain other animals, poultry, psittacine birds in addition to livestock entering Virginia.
The Board supported the actions of a committee of local concerned citizens in Southwest Virginia to seek state-enabling legislation to permit localities, at their option, to declare multiflora rose as a noxious weed and to provide for state cost sharing
