Multiflora rose, a shurb introduced into the U.S. in the 1930’s from Japan, is a serious problem in pastures and other unplowed lands in Southwest Virginia. In some counties, large acreages of pasture land have been seriously infested by this plant, which in turn reduced desirable grazing lands needed in cattle production, a major industry in Southwest Virginia.
The Board received a request to amend the Weights and Measures Regulation to allow the sale of 18 ounce sizes of yogurt. The Board authorized the Department to draft a proposal for consideration at its next meeting. Amendments to the Charitable Solicitations law were proposed for submission to the General Assembly that would set fees to cover all costs of administering the law.
