The Virginia Commission of Game and Inland Fisheries will conduct its annual midwinter bald eaglesurvey of the state in midJanuary. This survey will be conducted by Mitchell A. Byrd of the College of William and Mary and is part ot the Commission’s program being funded with revenues derived from the Non-Game Wildlife check-off bill.
Mid-winter surveys of bald eagles conducted by the Commission in 1981 and 1982 revealed an increased number of eagle in the state from previous years, reflecting the improved production of young birds in most areas of the country.
