Bernard J. Vierling of Locust Grove Farm, Flint Hill, died Monday, Dec. 27, in Washington, D.C. Mr. Vierling was a part-time resident of Rappahannock for 25 years and a full-time resident for four years.

He is survived by his wife, Martha Jane Peairs Vierling; his children, Lawrence Bernard, Bruce Wilcox and Karen Jane Vierling; his sister, Helen Wilt; and five grandchildren.

Memorial services will be held Thursday, Dec. 30. at 2 p.m. at the Westminster Presbyterian Church in Alexandria. Memorial contributions may be made to the Vierling Memorial Fund, 301 Encina Hall. Stanford University, Stanford California 94305. Interment is private.
