The main topic of news this week unfolds as the spotlight falls on Mrs. Nancy Lancaster, who spearheaded the Christmas cookie drive with some 80 Southern Baptist Churches participating and as some 120,000 cookies left Thursday to be shipped to the U. S. Navy and Marine personnel serving on the Independence, off the coast of Lebanon. It is fitting for Mrs. Lancaster to play this role, as her husband. Rev. Lancaster, is pastor of the Mt. Lebanon Baptist Church here.
Another compliment was made when WRC, ChannelTTV News sent a reporter to the Lancaster home for this story and many of us were privileged to see our community name of Boston, Va. flashed across the screen and be thankful this was a worthy project, and not some crime story. Our congratulations to Mrs. Lancaster and all who helped here. Truly there is a Boston where things get done.
