<>40 in the Jackson Distnct. On Monday, Konick contacted Ryder Construction company and was told that the firm had been building a firing range for the Blue 11 idge Gun Shop on October <>-7.
Konick then visited the property where he observed "large earthen berms and big bulldozer.” He said this was not the one the Ryder company had used, but another one. He also saw several shooting stands and Bowers “with several individuals with guns.” Konick then went to Settle’s house and learned that the club had leased the land from him for target shooting. While they were speaking, Konick said, "three or four shots cracked off the shooting stand.”
"There wasn’t any doubt in my mind it was a firing range," he added.
Firing ranges are not allowed in an agricultural zone without a special use permit, Konick explained, He said he had never received any application for a permit from Bowers or the club.
Bowers knew about the zoning amendment, Konick added, because it was written at his request. Bowers had spoken with Konick in 19«1 about the possibility of having a firing range next to the gun shop. Konick said he told Bowers at the time that he would need to have
