The animals are usually treated and diagnosed by Porter at Blue Ridge College or at the animal hospital in Waynesboro where Sheffield is employed. “Nancy’s boss. Dr. Robert Partridge, is our consulting vet. He's a skilled surgeon and works for the center for free,” Ed noted.
After treatment, the animals are taken to the remodeled barn on Sheffield’s family’s farm for long term care and recuperation, physical therapy and hunting and flight training.
