Upcoming Events Second Annual Craft Show

At Sperry villa Antique Market Sperryville Antique Market’s second annual craft show will held on Saturday and Sunday, October 20 and 21 from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. both days. There will be apple cider and craft demonstrations by some of Virginia’s finest artists. The market is located just off Rt. 211 in Sperrvyille onto Route 1003, watch for signs. McCarthy To Sign Books Former Senator Eugene McCarthy is scheduled to be at Rush River in Washington on Saturday, October 20, from 1 to 3 p.m. The former senator will autograph his new book, The View From Rappahannock, of which copies will be available for sale. Woman’s Club Bake Sale The Rappahannock Woman’s Club will have a bake sale on Saturday, October 20 beginning at 10 a.m. near the Trinity Episcopal Church.

Woodstove Safety Program Oct. 23 Wood stove safety will be the subject of discussion at the Washington fire hall Tuesday, October 23 beginning at 7 p.m. Safe installation, safety with catalytic dampers, safety in use and types of wood will be discussed. Guest speakers include: Steve Wagner of Plow and Hearth of Madison; chimney sweep Bruce Vierling, Roger Roach of the Washington Fire Department and a representative of Catalytic Damper Corp. of Flint Hill.

Danish Speaker Tonight At Gallery Danish scientist Ole Therkelsen will be a guest speaker Thursday, Oct. 18 at the Middle Street Gallery beginning at 7:30 p.m. Therkelsen will present a slide show about the cosmology of the Danish author and philosopher Martinus. There is no charge for the program, which is being presented by the Middle Street Center. A donation will be accepted for use of the Gallery.
