speech and held a question and answer session on world hunger Friday, October 12 at Wakefield School. Findley is a former congressman from Springfield, Illinois, and is currently chairman of the World Hunger Council.
Findley spoke on the hunger problem, and how the United States and other countries have been trying to deal with it. His audience was made up of Wakefield students and faculty.
During the question and answer session, Findley answered questions on what countries need help the most, how the problem can be solved, and about hunger in the United States.
“My hunch is that if you scour the hills of this county, you would find hunger,” Findley said. The program began at 2:30 p.m., and was held in observance of World Hunger Week.
