Amissville Ruritans complete rail on approach to Stuarts Field. They are (foreground-background): Jerry Curtis, Gilbert Lawrence, Charlie Priest, Ed Lawrence, B. Settle, H. R. Terhune, Robert Priest, Frank McWhirt, C. G. Lawrence. The 1,000-foot rail fence was donated by club members; no funds were withdrawn from the Ruritan treasury. Stuarts Field, with three ball diamonds, was donated last spring by Mrs. L. B. Stuart, in memory of her late husband, U.S. Navy (ret.) Captain L. B. Stuart. Its primary purpose is to serve Amissville baseball teams.
