Chicken roasters the size of small turkeys again are making headway in the this year just in time for the Thanksgiving holiday. In Sperryville, one hen at least implied that more competition fin* turkeys has arrived in another area, too.
It was a “red, cross-breed hen” that layed a turkey-size egg November 13, according to the chicken’s owner, Marie Atkins. The oversized chicken egg with a pale brown shell measured 6 3/4 inches around and 8 1/2 inches long, huger than some turkey eggs.
Adding to the egg-dtement was speculation that this egg could contain at least three yolks. Hopes were dashed with the competitor, though: The egg was only a doubleyolker.
