It’s big, beautiful, and roomy enough to put five Ralph Sampson’s side by side inside with room to spare. (Mr. Sampson’s T4” and a former UVA basketball star now with the Houston Rockets.) It’s RCHS’s new trophy case, and it’s filling up fast with awards earned by Rappahannock High’s own stars of yesterday and today.
The Student Cooperative Association (SCA) began in the fall of 1983 discussing what they would do as a major project. After many projects were considered, the SCA narrowed the choice down to two: a new curtain for the stage or a new trophy case.
It was believed that the old trophy case, quite simply, was too crowded. After more discussion, the trophy case seemed to be the better and more needed project. This basically was for two reasons: the school was winning more trophies, and SCA members who were aJi
