two of the nicest streams in the county; the Covington River and the Rush River. There are also smaller streams which come from the proposed landfill site and empty into the Covington and Rush Rivers. While the landfill will probably be small at the onset, experience tells us that in time it could have a devastating effect on the viability of these two rivers. What has happened to the concern for preserving our clear water?
Taking all other factors into consideration — and there are numerous others for opposing this particular site — the factor of the probable pollution of our streams should, in itself, be a compelling reason for locating the landfill elsewhere.
My husband and I looked for several years in several states for country property. When we saw the lovely Rush River adjoining our future lot at Peyton Farm Estates, the choice was made. We are therefore unalterably opposed to a landfill being placed on the proposed site on Route 621.
