• Support from Warren County. Warren County also supports the Chester Gap volunteers. According to Chief Williams, as high as 80 percent of all Chester Gap calls originate in the neighboring county.

This year, Chester Gap received $1,500 from Warren County; next year they are scheduled to receive $6,000, Chief Williams said.

• Annual carnival. Chester Gap’s annual carnival still is a nuyor source of fluids, Chief Williams noted. Chester Gap is the only fire company that owns its own rides. Still, their carnival runs only four days, primarily due to the high cost of insurance.
